Scratching Paintings - "Signature Pieces"
In this unique series, I aim to depict typical human emotions such as empathy, social feelings in groups, but also the pursuit of success with the help of formations of stylized animal and body shapes. Free access to my own subconscious has always fascinated me. As a painter, gestural painting therefore plays an important role for me. My artistic process involves intensive preparation by observing, trying out and sketching encounters between animals and people. I want to transfer the lightness and spontaneity of my sketches to larger canvas formats and allow for the unexpected and coincidental, as in the sketch, in the large format as well.My works, which are made with oil and acrylic, range from figurative to abstract and reflect my passion for drawing. I strive to invent something new in my technique by taking inspiration from renowned masters and learning from existing works of art. In addition to brushes, I use scrapers and screwdrivers to scrape off paint surfaces quickly and spontaneously. Sometimes I also spray paint from tubes or throw it onto the canvas dripping from wooden sticks.
