Rhythmic Dissolution of Body Shapes
In this series I aim to spontaneously and rhythmically depict human bodies, breaking them down into fragments to reveal the energetic essence behind them.At the same time, I am exploring the rhythmic painting of human figures as a healthy response to the overwhelming abundance of staged and filtered images on social media. These images, often exaggerated and altered by AI filters, flood us with passive consumption. By relying only on my memory (and not on a smartphone photo), breaking down structures, delving inside and extracting essence, I strive to present an alternative truth. The painting process is spontaneous and allows me to tap into my emotional feelings. The representations are predominantly not based on specific models or references, but arise directly from my mind. This approach leads to strange distortions, such as oversized heads or crooked body parts. I celebrate the courage to portray this ugliness, in a way as an antidote to the perfectly staged beauty in the media. Most of the works in this series are created on paper with rhythmic strokes of oil pastels. I occasionally use turpentine to dilute them and create textures. These deconstructive works served as an important basis for the subsequent series of signature prints, which show penguin shapes.
